If
it were as simple to go out and buy a book or magic potion to
achieve a permanent youthful look, the beauty industry would literally
not exist. I want you to stop for one minute and think. I mean
really think.
Do you know
anyone that does not wish they looked younger? If you said yes,
you are in a tiny majority and this article won't help you.
It is
estimated that 99.926 % of this worlds population over the age
of 30 wishes at some point that they look younger.
Is it possible
to achieve a younger, happier, healthier looking skin? We are
going to take a look at 10 distinctive steps you can take to achieve
and keep just that.
o Drink plenty
of water
o Protect your skin and body from free radicals
o Keep your skin moisturized
o Eat a well balanced diet
o Get enough sleep
o Exfoliate daily
o Avoid stress where ever possible
o Increase high protein foods
o Decrease greasy foods
o Drink and eat plenty of foods with anti-oxidants in them
These ten
simple tasks can help you achieve the ultimate goal ideally.
It is well
documented that the above ten items are recommended to people
that want to achieve or maintain younger looking skin. These are
natural options, and there are also other not so natural, but
very good methods that I will touch on later. But for now let
us take a look at what each of these things entail.
Drink
plenty of water- It is advised that you consume at a minimum
of at least 8 glasses of water a day. This helps to achieve healthy
and younger looking skin by flushing your system.
Protect
your skin and body from free radicals- Before we touch on
how that is done; let us see what that means. A free radical is
a molecule that attacks other cells in your body. It attacks healthy
cells. How can you protect yourself from free radicals if they
are inside your body? That is a very good question. Anti-oxidants
attack and rid the body of these damaging free radicals.
Use
a moisturizer daily- Moisturizing your skin can help strengthen
it. Especially if you use a moisturizer that has an anti-oxidants
in it. Moisturizing skin will prohibit the formation of fine lines
and wrinkles. Our Hempz lotion is our favorite. It smells great,
doesn't feel oily, and it last a long time.
Eat a
well balanced diet- Eating a well balanced diet that contains
at least 8 servings of fruits and vegetables that contain anti-oxidants
will go a long way to promote healthy skin and body.
Get enough
sleep-It is no secret that the national sleep organization
recommends 6-8 hours of sleep a night but lets be realistic, in
this day of face paced jobs and faster paced families that is
not always possible. When you find that you can not get a full
6-8 hours of sleep a night, try to rearrange your schedule. Your
body needs sleep to replenish from the long hard day you just
had.
Exfoliate
daily- A daily beauty regime that contains exfoliation will
rid your skin of dead and dying skin making room for new vibrant
skin.
Avoid
stress in your life where ever possible- If you are like me
and a lot of other people that statement probably made you chuckle
a bit. If avoiding stress were easy then there would be a lot
less problems in this world. Try to minimize your stress. If you
are in an extremely stressful situation, share your feelings.
If you keep them bottled up inside they can make you sick and
can get your skin to react poorly.
Increase
high protein foods- Eating foods high in protein give your
skin the energy it needs to rejuvenate. It also helps keep heart
problems to a minimal. Heart problems are known to cause added
problems with your skin.
Decrease
greasy foods- This is because greasy foods add build up to
your skin cells. It actually can clog your pores creating blemishes
and making skin appear worn or tired.
Drink
and eat plenty of foods and drinks that contain anti-oxidants-
The
Japanese who have the longest life span of any other group
in the world, drink 8-12 cups of green tea per day. They also
have remarkably young healthy looking skin for the most part.
The ancient Orientals believed in using natural herbs and plants
to achieve age defying skin. They used the Polynesian seed oils
like coconut oil and a wide variety of natural oils and flowers
to achieve younger softer looking and feeling skin.
Another tip
that present day oriental people do to keep younger looking skin
is to blend coconut oil into skin lotions to achieve the softest
skin possible. For centuries the use of coconut has kept their
skin baby smooth and clear.
Finally,
your body stores toxins from years of exposure to chemicals, poor
quality foods (fast food, treated food etc.), and other things
you experience in your life. These toxins need to get out. If
you keep all this bad stuff in, your body suffers. Try
a detoxifying body wrap to get the toxins out on a regular basis.
You'll be surprised at how good you'll feel.
